Fish Oil Capsules....they are so big, do you swallow or break them and get the oil inside?

Hi, this has got to be one of the stupidest questins ever. But I bought fish oil capsules and they are really big and I can swallow them but I just realised they have like a plasticy clear thing around them and the oil is inside. Do you haveto peirce the capsule and drink the oil or is the plastic stuff around it eatable? I know tis silly but I dont know lol
